An Overview of Problem Gambling in Connecticut

This 2-hour virtual training will include an overview of gambling, features in games that resemble gambling, defining problem gambling, Connecticut prevalence, gambling prevention resources, and information on the Regional Gambling Awareness Teams.

Learning Objectives

  1. Explain the types of gambling and features in games that resemble gambling 

  2. Identify risk and protective factors including warning signs for problem gambling 

  3. Understand the progression of gambling related issues and prevalence in Connecticut 

  4. Obtain gambling prevention resources and information on the Regional Gambling Awareness Teams

This training meets the Connecticut Certification Board requirements for 2 hours of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for the Certified Prevention Specialist Certification.
