Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) Application & Exam Overview

This 1.5-hour virtual training will provide a comprehensive review of the steps required to become a Certified Prevention Specialist. Participants are encouraged to ask questions throughout the training.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the rationale for prevention certification

  • Identify the six prevention domains that align with prevention workforce competencies

  • Review the CPS application requirements as regulated by the CT Certification Board

  • Review the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) CPS Exam registration process

  • Preview exam study materials and review exam preparation tips

  • Coalition Coordinators working with State/Federally funded prevention coalitions

  • Individuals working in the field of prevention
