Who are these tools meant for?
We have built these tools for use of those who work in and want to build effective coalitions centered around substance prevention. It is our hope that with these tools, we can build capacity and visibility of the prevention field in Connecticut and nationwide. You may find value in these tools if you are: a new or veteran coalition coordinator, a youth peer advocate, a human service professional/social worker, a parent, an educator and many other roles in substance use prevention!
Can I use your tools and resources for free?
Yes! As a Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) funded partner, our tools and resources are free to use. We are also available to provide technical assistance and training to your group or coalition!

Bristol Eliminating Substance Use Together (BEST) Coalition
The Bristol Eliminating Substance Use Together (BEST) coalition uses a combination of prevention strategies to encourage safe medication use, safe storage, and safe disposal of prescription drugs.
Clinton Partners in Community
Partners in Community (PiC), has a robust history of implementing innovative prevention initiatives in its community of 13,185 residents located at the southern end of Middlesex County on Long Island Sound.
Killingly Youth Substance Prevention Coalition
Killingly Youth Substance Prevention Coalition is a new coalition that illustrates several positive characteristics contributing to its successful launch and functioning. KYSPC received one of ten DMHAS in CT Communities coalition grants in July 2021.
Southington STEPS
Southington’s Town-wide Efforts to Promote Success (STEPS) coalition is considered a model coalition by many. STEPS grew from a small group of concerned citizens discussing youth suicides to a vibrant coalition which has been innovative in reducing substance use.
